API Certification
Prior to the the API sync being released to a customer, the Client App must pass a certification process to ensure a minimum level of functionality and performance. There are different levels of certification that enables an application to start being used by customers before the full functionality has been implemented.
Certification Process
The process involves evaluating different aspects of the syncing functionality between GDSN Connect and the Client App. Some areas that will be evaluated include:
User experience: The user interface and experience should be accessible and intuitive. This will evaluate how a user goes through the various processes, the placement of any buttons, actions, or information, and information provided to the user.
Accuracy of updated attributes: The attributes that are being updated must be accurately mapped and then updated on the Client App record.
Performance and reliability of system: This will evaluate the robustness and error handling for any API technical issues (e.g. improperly formatted calls) or data handling issues (e.g. missing values).
Certification Levels
The syncing functionality has been split into different levels to enable Client Apps to become certified as quickly as possible while still delivering value to customers. Each level generally builds upon the prior levels and expand what users can do within the Client App.
