GCDB Matching Process
To get enhanced product data from the GDSN Connect Database (GCDB), an item record must first be matched to a source record from the GCDB. When an item is first synced to GDSN Connect, the system attempts to automatically match the record based on the information on the record. If no match is found, the user can then manually search the GCDB for the correct match. Once this match is made, the Client App can then sync the enhanced data and updated the item record.
Automated Matching
GTIN
Vendor & Vendor Product ID: This will be effective if 1) the user has Vendor & Vendor Product IDs entered on the records in the Client App, and 2) they have already added their products to their Local Database using the Vendor Item Import. This will also work for customers who are members of a purchasing co-op that is using GDSN Connect.
Manual Matching
Find GTIN in the Search Hub: The user can search for their product in the GDSN Connect Search Hub and copy/paste it into the record in the Client App. This will then automatically match on the next sync.
Smart Search: Users selects the correct item from a list of the most likely matches based on the information on the item record and GDSN Connect's Smart Search algorithm.
Standard Search: User enters a search term and selects the correct item from the list of items returned by that search search term.
