Link to Search Hub

The GDSN Connect Search Hub is free for the K-12 community to access. In the Search Hub, users can search for products in the GCDB and view the product information. Some users may decide to upgrade their functionality to get access to additional features, such as saving items to their own Item Database and subscribing to Product Updates from the manufacturer. Syncing data to their authorized Client App via this API is an optional upgrade.

Even without the syncing functionality enabled, users can use the Search Hub to copy and paste product data into their menu planning application. With the sync functionality enabled, the Search Hub complements the Client App by providing additional features.

There are two options to make the navigation between the Client App and GDSN Connect easier for users.

Embedded Link

This includes displaying to all users a link to GDSN Connect Search Hub on relevant pages within the Client App. For example, showing a button on the Ingredient detail page would allow the user with an easy way to find the product data from GDSN to use on that item.

inTEAM will provide logos and graphic files to use, as well as a Client App-specific URL to properly attribute which application the user came from. After clicking this link, users will need to create their own free account in GDSN Connect to be able to use the Search Hub.

Single Sign On

The GDSN Connect API also contains the option to allow users to sign in to GDSN Connect using their Client App credentials. This is a more seamless option, especially when coupled with the API, and doesn’t require the user to create a separate account in GDSN Connect.
